E.L. WEIGAND GREAT HALL
This great hall seats 100 comfortably or accommodates many tables for a grand buffet or sit-down meal. Restored in 2001, the room gives you a look of at the original 1876 design. This large, contiguous space is perfect for receptions (Wedding anyone?), meetings, lunches and other special events. The view from this room is breathtaking and unobstructed out to the eastern horizon. The larger space can be divided into two smaller ones when the original pocket doors are closed.

VIRGINIA CITY ALUMNI ROOM
The Virginia City Alumni Association Room seats fifty and is a perfect space for smaller events, workshops or breakouts of a larger event. Filled with class photographs, photographs of sports teams beginning from the days of bloomers and the important memorabilia of generations of Virginia City students, its ambience stimulates the mind.

MAIN FLOOR CLASSROOM
This original 1876 classroom has seating for up to fifty. A “School Day” is real here with original desks, wall maps, pot-bellied stove and even an organ. Look down and you can see the wear of small shoes scrubbing on the wooden floor. This is a great lecture/breakout room.

FIRST FLOOR EXHIBIT SPACE

The Fourth Ward School's changing-gallery room houses a new exhibit every year and would be a wonderful place to reserve for that special yearly meeting or reception. Exhibits cover the history of the Comstock with pictures and artifacts. It can seat thirty and is perfect for small gatherings.

THIRD FLOOR PRINTER'S ROOM

This room is called the Printer's Room because it houses a restored 1887 Chandler and Price printing press and a permanent Mark Twain exhibit. You'll also see a glass-enclosed, artifact laden space that served to separate typing lessons from the rest of the classroom. Seating up to forty, the room helps to expand the utility of the facility.

MINING EXHIBIT ROOM

Virginia City mining inspired a flurry of technical innovations, and many are on display here. Did you know that San Francisco cable cars owe their smooth running to a Virginia City invention? The room contains an exhibit that tells the story of Comstock mining. It is conveniently located near the Great Hall, elevator and restrooms.

CATERING FACILITIES

The catering kitchen is state-of-the-art with commercial ice-maker, warming oven and refrigerator. It has ample preparation space and an expansive commercial sink area. Located adjacent to the elevator with easy access to all meeting spaces, it also has a six-foot high, multiple tray holder to speed service to any room in the building.

BATHROOMS

In 2004 the original "Water Closet" tower was rebuilt. The school was a model for bathroom facilities in 1876 with in-door plumbing and flush toilets. The new bathrooms bring back the old flavor with tile and wood and, of course, modern convenience. No queues here!

One look out the east windows tells you that you are in a special place. Your guests and attendees will appreciate your thoughtfulness in choosing a venue that separates them from the rush and crowding of the big city and the distraction of their workplace.
