MISSION STATEMENT:
To connect people to the relevance and importance of the Comstock story through its authentic preservation, interpretive exhibits and programs, and archival resources.



VISION STATEMENT: Recognized, predominant resource
Stewardship of History through the Historic Fourth Ward School Preserving history is important as a connection with others through a shared heritage for understanding the present and as a gift for the future. The preservation of FWS, a National Treasure and centennial monument to public education, is important in the social, cultural, and economic life of the local, regional, and national community. FWS is the embodiment of the entrepreneurial spirit that built this nation.



GOALS:

  1. To support the preservation, in any form, of the heritage of, specifically, the Fourth Ward School, and generally, the Comstock, Storey County, and the state of Nevada

  2. To provide a year round, active and vital community cultural center.

  3. To achieve recognition in the fields of preservation, historical architecture, education, and history through a diversity of quality programs and events.

  4. To maintain and expand the museum activities.
